How did you get started? Tell us your story!
My name is Keezus Picasso. I am an upcoming Atlanta artist narrating stories of adolescence filled with emotions of heartbreak and happiness. I make music for the outcasts who have no voice, giving them a way to turn up through their pain and express their emotions. A musical prodigy, I studied classical piano at a young age, and later gravitated towards the guitar, harmonica, vocoder and keytar. By the age of 14, I was experimenting with production and live instrumentation from the corner of my bedroom, where I developed much of the sound you hear in my music today. Keezus Picasso!
What is your experience in the music industry? Do you have any formal training or schooling? If not, are you self-taught and how did you learn your craft? What is your learning style? What are your favorite educational resources (ex. college, Youtube, etc.)?
I am self-taught through YouTube videos and watching others.
What are some credits and achievements that you have? Who have you worked with? Who have you collaborated with?
I have been solely creating my own sound. "SwagHollywood" is one of the few artists I have worked with during my career. Who are your biggest influences growing up and why? Who do you like to listen to now and why? Who’s on your playlist right now?
Kid Cudi, Young Thug, Alphaville, and Kanye West are my biggest influences and are still heavily on my playlist today.
What are some of the biggest obstacles you’ve encountered or faced in this industry?
My biggest obstacles were grinding and paying for studio equipment/music videos as young as 14 while never working a job but by selling snacks at school. How would you describe your sound and style?
My sound is telling stories of adolescence filled with emotions of heartbreak and happiness. I make music for the outcasts who have no voice, giving them a way to turn up through their pain and express their emotions.
What are some of your goals this year?
My goal for 2020 is to have my first EP out by late 2020. Who are the top 3 artists, producers, engineers, videographers, or others you would want to work with that you haven’t worked with yet?
I would love to work with Young Thug, Mike Dean, and Kanye West.
What is your creative process like?
I am very meticulous and I never write any of my music. I always say what I feel in that exact moment.
What’s your favorite go-to order?
French fries from anywhere on the planet because potatoes make the world go around.
