What's your name? How did you get started?
My name is LNF Zae. I started rapping when I was 8, I needed a way to express myself in a way that normal sentences & words couldn’t. I was born in Gulfport, Mississippi. I grew up with a large blues influence because of my family, but I've always liked all genres.
I started making music actually as a joke with one of my friends just playing & freestyling. Eventually, my passion grew for it. I love making music because I can be myself & say how I feel without ridicule. I started taking music seriously around age 11. My biggest moments have yet to come but becoming a producer in 2019 & beginning to produce my music as well as write it, was a big thing for me.
What is your experience in the music industry? Do you have any formal training or schooling? If not, are you self-taught and how did you learn your craft? What is your learning style? What are your favorite educational resources (ex. college, Youtube, etc.)?
I self-taught myself how to write, format & make my beats. Youtube was my best friend when learning how to make beats. My favorite style is bar-for-bar rapping but I do it all! Even a little singing here & there.
Who are your biggest influences growing up and why? Who do you like to listen to now and why? Who’s on your playlist right now?
My biggest influences growing up were Eminem & Lil Wayne. To me, they were what rap was supposed to be. Bars & punchlines all day. Now I listen to pretty much anything that sounds good. Now my favorite artist is probably Youngboy or Roddy Rich.
What are some of the biggest obstacles you’ve encountered or faced in this industry?
My biggest obstacle has always been getting my music heard on a larger scale.
How would you describe your sound and style?
My sound is unique. It’s me, I don't sound like anybody, I don’t want to sound like anybody. The best way I can describe my style is “bar city”.
What are some of your goals this year?
This year I wanted to just write & build my catalog up for 2021. My goal before 2020 is to shoot my first music video.
Who are the top 3 artists, producers, engineers, videographers, or others you would want to work with that you haven’t worked with yet?
My top 3 artists I would want to work with are Lil Wayne, Youngboy & Eminem. My top 3 producers I would want to work with would be Wheezy, Zaytoven & Scott Scorch.
What is your creative process like?
I like writing when I feel something or feel some kind of way. It flows more naturally.
What’s your favorite go-to order?
