How did you get started? Tell us your story!
Hello, my name is Obinna but my videographer name is ShotByOB and I am from Cheverly, MD. The reason I started shooting music videos was that I was in the hood every day just making money and wanted more out of life for myself. I would watch Foolwiththecamera's videos and be inspired to do more because he gave me hope that I could become very successful in Atlanta doing so. I grew up recording high school and neighborhood fights and would make short hood vlogs with my friends in my neighborhood. I would also make gogo dancing videos and short films to post to Youtube back in 2006. I have always had a passion for filming since I was young. I started taking my craft seriously in 2019 after my friend/mentor EKTheSniper became a successful videographer field as well. Some of my biggest moments were meeting all of the celebrities you see on TV every day as well as making a lot of money on my terms. I enjoy helping the artist bring their vision to life, it's a tedious process sometimes but well worth the wait.
What is your experience in the music industry? Do you have any formal training or schooling? If not, are you self-taught and how did you learn your craft? What is your learning style? What are your favorite educational resources (ex. college, Youtube, etc.)?
I attempted to be a rapper back in 2015 with some of my neighborhood friends but that was an epic fail. I was taught by my friend/mentor EKTHESniper who was self-taught by YouTube as well. He would always tell me to go on YouTube and figure it out until one day I put the time aside to do so and everything started progressing. I would shadow him at his video shoots and ask a lot of questions whenever I was confused with something which helped me build the perseverance to complete such a task. I have been heavily active in the music industry for about 7 years now and still have much more to learn about the business.
What are some credits and achievements that you have? Who have you worked with? Who have you collaborated with?
