How did you get started? Tell us your story!

My name is Toryana Jones. I'm originally from Avon Park, Florida and relocated to Atlanta, GA in November of 2019. My passion for filmmaking has always been an integral part of who I am and I'm extremely excited to share that passion with people during their life's most important moments. My formal education began back in high school where I enrolled in video production courses, and became instantly hooked! So much so that I produced my own show on the school's broadcasting network, called "Toryana's Tales." This show ran for 2 years through high school and fueled my drive and curiosity for film. I began to get serious with filmmaking at the beginning of 2019, taking courses through Fulltime Filmmaker. It's helped me express my creativity and bring everything together for a beautiful end product. I love to learn new ideas, techniques, and perspectives.

What is your experience in the music industry? Do you have any formal training or schooling? If not, are you self-taught and how did you learn your craft? What is your learning style? What are your favorite educational resources (ex. college, Youtube, etc.)?

I produce music videos and behind the scenes footage. Currently working with an artist at a studio in Atlanta and it's been a wonderful learning experience. My learning style is through experience and studying videos on YouTube. I am self-taught and gained knowledge through the Fulltime Filmmaker Program.

What are some of your goals this year?

I want to film more music videos and network with creatives in the area., increase my brand awareness, and reach 1,000 subscribers to my Youtube channel "TJ Takes."

Who are the top 3 artists, producers, engineers, videographers, or others you would want to work with that you haven’t worked with yet?

Who are your favorite directors? Who do you want to do a music video with?

Karena Evans and Cole Bennett. I'd like to do a music video with Joyner Lucas.

What kind of equipment do you have and why?

I use a Canon camera with a Ronin S. I love the colors Canon cameras produce and the features my Ronin S provides. I have a variety of equipment that assists with the range of clientele I work with.

What is your creative process like?

It is sporadic. Initially, I'll see something or an idea will come to me at the most random time. At that moment I will jot it down and then continue about my day. As time passes I begin to storyboard visually in my head what scenes I'd like to occur and their placement. Then I'll sit down and write these details out and eventually complete my creative process.

What’s your favorite go-to order?

I love cheese pizza from pizza hut.
